2007 Instructional Technology Educator of the Year

Sponsored by NC Association for Educational Communications and Technology

The purpose of this award is to recognize exceptional teachers or instructional technology specialists employed in North Carolina in grades K-12 who utilize technology in teaching and have encouraged unique and innovative educational projects in North Carolina schools. The nominee must be a member of NCaect.

RECOGNITION AND PRIZES
The winner will be recognized at the 2007 NCaect conference. The winner will receive a $500.00 award and a $250.00 stipend for conference expenses or a room for two nights for the 2007 NCaect conference.

GUIDELINES
NCaect members may nominate individuals they feel are deserving of recognition. Nominees will also be solicited from the regional directors of NCaect, media supervisors and technology directors across North Carolina.

Nominations must be postmarked by January 10, 2007.

Submission requirements are 2 copies of the following items:

  • Nomination cover page. Click here to download cover page.
  • Letter of support for nomination from the nominee’s immediate supervisor with performance evaluation responsibility.
  • Narrative description of nominee’s service, leadership, and philosophy concerning instructional technology, no more than 2 pages.
  • Personal statement of technology utilization by nominee, no more than 1 page.
  • List of membership(s) in professional media organizations, offices held, committees and other activities.
  • List of participation in other professional organizations, offices held, committees and other activities.

JUDGING CRITERIA
The Instructional Technology Educator of the Year Award is for individual excellence in technology. Factors that will be considered by the committee are:

  • Service to students, teachers, and the K-12 community.
  • Evidence of personal leadership in roles of teacher and/or trainer, collaboration with colleagues to integrate technology into the educational program, and innovative use of technology.
  • Evidence of professional involvement
  • Strong personal philosophy of instructional technology utilization
